Conversations occur at 62 decibels.
Whispering won’t get you anywhere and shouting just adds to the noise, but great conversations are what start and sustain the best, most trusting long-term relationships.
The principles your company is built on are the building blocks of a story that’s a lot more compelling than you may realize. If you’re ready for your business to be admired for its work, trusted for its integrity, and seen as deserving of its great success, then let's get together and build that conversation.

READY FOR WHAT’S NEXT
Decibel 62 is a project-based C-level communications consultancy formed by David Bruce, a Partner and the Executive Creative Director of the full-stack marketing communications, brand strategy and public affairs firm Perceptual Advisors. David is 25-year practitioner of marketing, public relations, business development, and public affairs.
As a senior in-house executive of Fortune 500 transportation and logistics leader, Ryder System, David led media relations and crisis response efforts for more than 18 years, responsible for corporate communications, crisis management, public affairs, and community relations. He also served as executive director of the company's charitable foundation.
As communications counsel to three Ryder CEOs, David led external and internal communications functions through a multi-year corporate turnaround that included nearly 20 acquisitions, profitable divestitures, entry and exit of international markets, transition of every key leadership position, and the launch of new products and services. This turnaround resulted in historic highs in annual revenue and earnings, and a more than 300% increase in share price.
Earlier, David helped launch Enterprise Florida, the nation's first statewide public/private partnership for trade and economic development, serving as senior vice president of communications. In that role, his team marketed the State of Florida, globally, as a business location, and helped organize several of the State's largest-ever trade initiatives, supporting the Governor and business leaders on missions to Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Costa Rica, Mexico, England and Scotland.
David has also served as a senior executive of the global PR firm, Burson-Marsteller where he led the agency’s corporate practice in Florida, serving clients including the University of Miami, Scott Paper Company, The Orange Bowl and Ryder System.
In an earlier role with Miami-Dade's economic development organization, The Beacon Council, David recruited and assisted organizations in establishing operations/creating jobs in South Florida, including MTV Networks, Apple, Ingram Micro, and the U.S. Southern Command.
David began his career in field marketing, working with national restaurant chains including Subway, Wendy's, Popeyes, and I Can't Believe It's Yogurt, developing marketing programs and conducting more than 40 local store marketing seminars across the U.S.
David resides in Miami’s Buena Vista neighborhood with his wife, Cindy, and their rescue dog, Bo Diddley. In his spare time, David is the lead singer of the popular local rock ‘n' roll band People You Know, and provides pro bono support to various causes. He has served on The Beacon Council Executive Committee and as a member of its Foundation board, The Miami Dolphins Nat Moore Scholarship Endowment Fund as a committee member, The University of Florida Public Relations Advisory Council as a member, Sebastian Strong Foundation as a consultant, and The Miami Project/Buoniconti Fund to Cure Paralysis as a consultant and member of its Stand Up Miami board of directors.
